So, anyways, I says to her (you know, Mrs. Electron-post-inTELLigencer), I says, YOU don't know ------ oh, excuse me -- I was just in a bit of Monty Python pepperpot mode there. Cleese and Jones.
So, the subject tonight is: I get to go to the Reds/Padres game in Cincinnati on Thursday, all in the name of work. Some software group is doing some presentation or other on some software that we use. Not in my department, but in one of the departments, so it had some peripheral relevance to my job, or at least enough to convince my boss to let me tag along. If I sit through the presentation and act slightly interested I will then be rewarded with a seat in the Fox Sport Net box at Great American Ballpark to watch a National League slugfest. Very cool.
Took Trish to her first MLB game a week ago Saturday to watch the Rangers get beat up by my beloved Indians. Ameriquest Field in Arlington is very nice. It was a scorching hot day, but by gametime it cooled off to about 95 F, and a gentle breeze developed to make it seem like 80 (and carry the Cleveland shots deep into center field). Looking forward to seeing a game in Cincinnati. Take me out to the cracker jack broken bat $35 cap ballgame!
